Delhi - Jaipur - Agra - Khajuraho - Varanasi - Delhi
Day
01 : Arrive Delhi Arrive Delhi, meet & greeting at airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi
Full day sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi - visiting Qutab Minar one of the tallest tower of it's time, Humayun Tomb one of the forerunner of the Taj Mahal, drive past India Gate and President House and other government buildings, Red Fort symbol of mighty Mughal empire, Jama Masjid one of the biggest mosque in India, Chandni Chowk and Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi Memorial). Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 : Delhi - Jaipur
Morning drive to Jaipur, arrive Jaipur and check in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure or free for optional activities. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04 : Jaipur
Morning visit Amber Fort, which guarded one of the important defile from the invading enemies. Climb atop fort's rampart on elephants back. Later, visit City Palace and museum that houses artifacts, weapons, manuscripts and royal garments. Also, visit 17th century astronomical observatory 'Jantar Mantar' that works quite accurately till date. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05 : Jaipur - Agra
Morning drive to Agra (232 km approx.) stopping en route to visit the deserted capital of Fatehpur, which is in an amazing state of preservation. Arrive Agra, check-in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06 : Agra
Morning visit the Agra Fort from where four of the mighty ruler from Mughal dynasty ruled their vast empire and the most beautiful monument of love the Taj Mahal, which is flawless to its conception and execution. Stay on the view the monument in the soft light of the setting sun. Overnight at hotel.
Day 07 : Agra - Jhansi - Khajuraho
Morning
transfer to railway station to board Shatabdi Express to Jhansi. Arrive Jhansi,
meet and drive to Khajuraho en route visit Orchha - Orchha's grandeur has been
captured in stone, frozen in time & a rich legacy to the ages. For, on this
medieval city, the hand of time has rested lightly: the palaces and the temples
built by its Bundela rulers in the 16th and 17th century retain much of their
pristine glory. Jahangir Mahal, a tiered palace crowned by graceful chhatris
has a spectacular view of soaring temple spires & cenotaphs .Upon arrival
check in to hotel.DAY 08 : Khajuraho
Full day sightseeing of Khajuraho - The world famous Khajuraho temples were built by the Chandela kings between 950 AD and 1050 AD. The most important are the Chaunset Yogini temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, the Mahadev temple, Chitragupta or Bharatji temple with a lovely image of 11 headed Vishnu, Vishvanath and Nandi temple, Lakshmana temple, Visha temple of Shiva which is the largest & most typical of temples. Visit the Eastern group of temples that consist of the Parasvanath temple - the only Jain temple surviving at Khajuraho and has excellent sculptures on the outer walls of the Sanctum, the Javeri temple dedicated to Vishu. The other temples in the group are those dedicated to Brahma, Yamuna and Adinath. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09 : Khajuraho - Varanasi
Transfer to airport to board on the flight to Varanasi. Arrive Varanasi, meet and transfer to hotel. Later depart for an excursion to Sarnath to visit the sites where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10 : Varanasi
Morning
boat excursion on the river Ganges, a ferry pilgrimage from ghat to ghat. People
bathe early in the morning to offer the prayers to the rising sun. the two cremation
ghats are Manikarnika & Harishchandra where funeral pyre burns day and night.
Every pious Hindu believes that to die in Kashi and to be cremated on banks
of the Ganges is to attain release from the cycle of birth and death.Varanasi
- Hindus holiest city and one of the oldest living cities in the world. Varanasi
was already old when Rome was founded, a flourishing trade centre when the Buddha
came to Sarnath to preach his first sermon. It was a city of great wealth and
religious important when the Chinese travelers Hiuen Tsang visited in the 7th
century. Half day, sightseeing tour of the city visiting the Bharat Mata temple
with a big relief map of India in marble, Durga temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir,
Banaras Hindu University which has an Art Gallery and the Mosque of Mughal Emperor
Aurangazeb built on the site of an ancient Hindu temple. Overnight at hotel.Day 11 : Varanasi - Delhi
Morning free. Afternoon transfer to airport to board the flight for Delhi. Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12 : Depart Delhi
Early morning transfer international airport for onward flight.
